I wasn't going to use this blog as a personal blog, but maybe reading all those Minneapa zines this summer has given me a new appreciation for what this forum we use to express our thoughts could be capable of.
So confessional time.
I've started a new hobby.
It's a terrible idea, I know. What's the one thing that heavier than paper when you get it the inevitable moving box?
That's right.
Vinyl.
I've started collecting 12" singles of European trance and techno music.
Is it because there's so many of them? Do I choose things to collect that I know I can never possibly finish collecting? One of the theorists I read last year claimed that collectors collections can never be completed, and that that's part of the allure. I was never sure about that, but looking at my own collecting proclivities, maybe it's true.
